We Are ILL presents “Strength in Unity: Building Community for Black NMOSD Patients,” a virtual program created to uplift, educate, and empower Black individuals living with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD). Building on the success of their previous workshop series, this new program dives deeper into the lived experiences of Black NMOSD patients, with 90-minute sessions led by neurologists, mental health professionals, and patient advocates.

MG Holistic Society will host its Black Autoimmune Summit, a unique event tailored to BIPOC living with autoimmune conditions. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others who understand their journey, discover new wellness options, and build meaningful connections with the Black Autoimmune community. The event will also highlight clinical research opportunities.

Marion will be speaking on a panel at the Summit, where she will share her personal story and lived experience as an NMO patient. In addition, she will provide attendees with valuable information about The Sumaira Foundation, helping to raise awareness and empower others living with rare autoimmune conditions.

Marion will be a featured speaker at Wellness Week(end), the signature annual event hosted by We Are ILL, created exclusively for Black women living with multiple sclerosis (and now Lupus and NMO). Now in its sixth year, this transformative gathering serves as a sacred space for rest, reconnection, and healing.

This year’s theme, “In Pursuit of Joy,” centers joy as essential — a lifeline through the challenges of chronic illness and a celebration of resilience. Marion will share her personal journey navigating life with a rare neuroimmune condition, offering reflections on identity, perseverance, and the intentional pursuit of joy.

She is honored to join a community of powerful women in Atlanta for a weekend filled with sisterhood, storytelling, and soul-nourishing care.
